For The Kitchen & The Garden Patch, I am trying to decide between digital or offset printing.
I’m going to have a cream or natural colored paper to make the book have a nice, vintage feel to it.
BUT I’m wondering if offset, although more expensive, will make a difference in that feeling I’m trying to give the book.
OR will it be enough to print it digitally and use a font like Metallophile SP8? (below)

Any thoughts?

I’m thinking I would like to do a spiral-bound cookbook instead. It lays flat, and as my friend suggested, a non-clothbound book is more “spill-friendly” in the kitchen.
What do you guys think? Do you like spiral bound?

i really would like my cookbook to be cloth covered & foil stamped.
italian cialux is my favorite. i wish these things weren’t so expensive. i might just do it myself, or figure out another way to get the look i want.
but honestly, who doesn’t love a cloth covered book? they’re so special. anyone with me on this?

A blog of cooking with love. Made just for you.
This will be a place for book news, things to veganize, cooking blogs I love, cooking wish-lists, and info on bookmaking and self-publishing (I’m learning as I go along).

Most of you know how much I love to cook. Without a major goal/resolution for the new year, I decided to combine my love of design and cooking and books and write a cookbook.
And I’m very excited; it’s nearly all I’ve been thinking about. I’ve been spending nights and weekends preparing recipes, and the daytime dreaming about the look and feel of the book, the type of font I will use, and which of my recipes I will include.
So, I want my readers to be a part of this process. I’ve been trying to come up with names, and I’ve narrowed it down to a few. Now I just need your help deciding, to see what jumps out at you. (poll below)
The kind of name I’m looking for is one that feels special; like it’s a cookbook that your dear old grandmother passed down to you with all of her secret recipes. My target audience isn’t necessarily a cooking pro; it’s more of a beginner cook (vegan or not) that just wants to try making some delicious food.
