Another version which had a bandage that was later airbrushed out. Since the album is titled “Beauty Beat,” we didn’t want anyone getting the wrong impression.
And the original. Yes it’s me, and yes I had taken a self-portrait after I passed out and hit my face.
It was the worst day of my life, but sometimes it pays to capture those moments. It allows for a photo that doesn’t appear staged; the eyes have a far-off look that says
we are all enduring.
